About Us

Though we've been around as ART Outfitters since 1997, we can claim that our doors have been open as an art supply store since 1881.

Originally the Jungkind family opened for business in 1881 selling art supplies, sundries, and pharmaceuticals. In 1896, Jungkind also started selling cameras. In 1996, Kodak celebrated their 100th anniversary and Jungkind's 100th year of selling Kodak products.     

ART Outfitters became the continuation of Jungkind's art products division in 1997, though the rest of the Jungkind legacy was eventually shut down.

Currently, ART Outfitters is a brick and mortar artist supply store, locally owned and operated, employing local people, outfitting artists as best we can.
